Republic Day Celebrated At Govt. Degree College Ghagwal

The 74th Republic Day of India was celebrated with gaiety and patriotic fervour at Govt. Degree College, Ghagwal amidst the foggy morning of 26th January, 2023. The ceremony took place in the presence of Dr. Sujata Slathia, Principal, and HoDs of various departments, Prof. Ramzan Ali, Dr. Rajni Bala, Dr. Deepika Sharma, Dr. Vani Awasthi, Dr. Sushma Arora, Ms. Shivali Panjgotra and Ms. Dheeraj Bhagat actively participated with the students. The ceremony commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, Dr. Sujata Slathia. This was accompanied by the rendition of National Anthem led by the college’s students. As it was Basant Panchami also today, so the Principal, staff and students paid their their deepest respects and showered flowers on Mata Saraswati. They sang Saraswati Vandana to invok the goddess of Knowledge and receive her blesings. The energetic performances by the students on Dogri songs and also performing the authentic “Jagarna” filled the crowd with great energy and enthusiasm. The environment aroused feelings of love and brotherhood among all. Dr. Slathia addressed the gathering and highlighted the achievements of the college. She emphasized upon the quality education which would help in the development of the city and the country at large. She highlighted the importance of the constitution and opined that we as Indians are fortunate to have one of the largest constitutions of the world. She urged the teachers to be good role models and students to focus on learning life skills and being a part of solutions. The college students also participated in the Local level performances and gained immense recognition and appreciation. The fervour ended with the college receiving great acknowledgement from everyone.
